The Greek crew of Manos and Kostas unveils, in virtual reality form, the livery of their Hyundai i20 N Rally2 for Acropolis Rally 2022, 10th round of the World Rally Championship (WRC), that is scheduled for 8-11 September.
The livery of the car was created by world-class automobile designer, Sotiris Kovos, who alongside his trusted colleague Giannis Boutkaris, honored Manos and Kostas in view of their upcoming participation in the legendary Greek rally.
Preparation and technical support of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 during the event, will be provided by Italian team, GB Motors.
The entry of Manos and Kostas Stefanis at the Acropolis Rally, is sponsored by Hyundai Hellas and Coral S.A. – Shell Licensee.
Note to editors: The competition number (30) applied has been chosen randomly and is used purely for the needs of completing the overall design.
The actual competition number of Manos and Kostas Stefanis in the 2022 Acropolis Rally will be published together with the official entry list, by the Organizing Committee and FIA, during the month.
Sotiris Kovos describes the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 livery creation procedure:
“As soon as I was informed about the participation of Manos and Kostas at the Acropolis Rally, I instantly had the desire to make this proposal. As I deeply love rallying, I considered this both as honor and opportunity.
The most important thing about cars, is that they should have their own character. As a designer, I always want to create cars that have character. I wouldn’t say unique character, as parthenogenesis doesn’t exist, but create a car that stands out and is different from what we have seen.
Keeping in mind that both sponsors have strong colours, I had to find a way to combine them, because we needed to have both Hyundai performance car colour-identity and the distinctive colours of Coral A.E. – Shell Licensee on the rally car.
A sticker can be put on any colour surface, but if you make sure that the shade of the surface it sticks to, is highlighting it in the best way, then it really “takes off”.
I maintained the Hyundai N performance models signature colour at the front and up to the doors, so that it can clearly send its identity message from long distance, whether heading straight or even sideways!
After that, the colour slightly alters to the Coral – Shell Licensee red, creating a sense of movement even when the car is standing still, whilst all of this had to be neatly placed, so as to achieve a beautiful result.
This is why I put the “Taya” on the bonnet, which continues towards the sky and reaches all the way back, to add design at the whole image.
In the end, I think we succeeded together with my excellent colleague Giannis Boutkaris, who contributed significantly in the development of the design, due to his knowledge and talent in graphics and computing, as well as to his love for both cars and motorsport.”

“It’s a great honor for both of us and me especially, to be preparing for my third personal, as well as for the 29th participation of Kostas at the Acropolis Rally, knowing that the livery of the car I will drive, has been created by a world class automotive designer, such as Sotiris Kovos.
Obviously, commenting that the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 looks fabulous could probably be redundant, but it’s very difficult for me to hide my enthusiasm.
